How My Proxy Manager Works

The basics

Set up in three steps

Download and install

Download ProxyManager.exe and run it. It is a lightweight native Windows app with no extra runtimes to install.

Activate your licence

On first launch the app shows your unique Machine ID. Start a free 7-day trial, or paste a licence key. Each licence is tied to one machine.

Add your first proxy profile

Enter a name, protocol, host and port - plus credentials if your proxy needs them. Save it and it appears in your profile list.

Applying a proxy to Windows

When you select a profile and click Apply to system, Proxy Manager writes it straight into the Windows Internet Settings (WinINET) registry keys. Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer and every app that follows the Windows system proxy route their traffic through it immediately. Click Disable proxy to return to a direct connection at any time.

Your credentials stay encrypted

If a proxy needs a username and password, My Proxy Manager stores them in the Windows Credential Manager and encrypts them at rest with Windows DPAPI, tied to your Windows user account. Proxy passwords are never kept in plain text.

Testing and tunnel mode

Before you rely on a proxy, click Test connection to confirm it is reachable. For apps that cannot use a proxy directly, My Proxy Manager includes a built-in tunnel powered by sing-box, so you can route traffic through a SOCKS5 or HTTP upstream. A live event log shows app activity and tunnel output as it happens.

Bypass lists

Each profile can carry a bypass list - a semicolon-separated set of hosts that should skip the proxy. Local addresses bypass by default, so internal traffic is never sent through your upstream.

How licensing works

My Proxy Manager uses an offline, machine-locked licence. After activation the app verifies your key locally on each launch, with no constant server connection required. Your free trial lasts 7 days; after that you choose a plan of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months. When you renew, the new time is added on top of whatever you have left, so renewing early never loses you days.

Yes. My Proxy Manager runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit).

Do I need an internet connection to use it?

Only to activate or renew your licence. Once activated, the licence
is verified locally and the app works fully offline.

Which proxy types are supported?

HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 proxies, with optional username and
password authentication.

Will the proxy work in my browser?

Any browser or app that follows the Windows system proxy -
including Microsoft Edge - picks it up automatically. For apps with
their own proxy settings, use the built-in tunnel mode.

How do I get my key after paying?

After your payment is confirmed, the app fetches your key
automatically. There is no copy-paste step.
